Michalis Goutis is a Greek composer and pianist, member of the Greek Composers’ Union. His output includes contemporary classical music, art songs, original scores for both theatre and films and music for contemporary dance. Recent activity includes:

  • Music for Leonidas Vardaros' documentary film  "Women Fighters - The Triple Liberation".

  • His second album "To Portreto" released under the Ogdoo Records label (2021).

  • Participation in Contemporary Music Workshop with his work "Come and Go" (Athens Concert Hall, 2019)

  • Music for "Hubris" (contemporary dance performance directed by Katerina Antoniadou, National Theatre of Northern Greece, Thessaloniki 2018)

  • Music for Lorca’s play "Perlimplin and Belisa" (Theatre T, Thessaloniki 2018).

  • His first album “Sta Fanera kai t’ Afanerota”, based on Theodosis Volkof’s poetry, released under the FM Records label.


Previous important works include:

  • "Hanele" (musical theatre directed by Lina Kalpazidou, Beton7, Athens 2014)

  • Music for the film "In my Recovery Place" (directed by Sp. Athinaiou).

Born in Thessaloniki in 1982, Michalis studied piano at the Music College Conservatory with Inesa Simonidou and at the Royal Northern College of Music with Paul Roberts. Additionally he studied composition with Costas Tsougras at the Thessaloniki State Conservatory. Michalis is an experienced accompanist with numerous collaborations with classical singers and instrumentalists. He has been a piano and Music Theory tutor since 2005 working in Thessaloniki and Ptolemaida. He currently lives in Athens.
